NEWARK AIR MUSEUM, APRIL 2012
As we were at Newark Expo Military sale at Newark showground, we made the 2 minute trip to Newark Air Museum which is located at Drove Lane, Winthorpe,Newark, Nottinghamshire NG24 2NY. It's been a number of years since my last visit, in fact, just checking my photos, it was way back in 2002! Things have changed and it was well worth the £7.70 entrance free(70p gifted) with around twenty aircraft well spaced out in the open and two main display hangers housing another 45 airframes along with a engine display hall. I even had the chance to sit in the cockpit of 1952 Preston-built WV787 Canberra.B2 which was a trials aircraft for 33 years based at Boscombe Down Experimental Establishment. There are a number of WWII British Bomber gun Turrets on display in Hanger 2 along with a bouncing Bomb on loan from the Barnes Wallis Trust.
